Interview: Walter Cronkite

During his legendary career as a CBS News anchor, Walter Cronkite initiated counting off the days that the US hostages were held in Iran as a way to keep the story before the American public. Twenty years after the counting came to an end, Cronkite told Reese Erlich that he agreed to host "The Struggle for Iran" out of respect for public radio and because Iran has been of "very deep interest" to him for years. After returning to the United States, Reese worked directly with Cronkite on the project. Reese spoke with Cronkite about Iran and the US media's coverage of foreign affairs.
